Do you know how happy I am that it is March?? Two days ago I heard birds chirping! CHIRPING! No one gets how excited that makes me feel. In reality there was a snowstorm yesterday and those birds probably froze but I felt like I could finally begin to hope that winter will be over.
Earlier this year I developed a new skin care routine for myself and my skin is so thankful for it. I added some brands I hadn’t used previously and fell completely in love. The theme for my winter/spring skin care routine is moisture, moisture, and more moisture.
I start the morning off by rinsing my face with a bit of cool water. I always cleanse my face at night so most times it’s too much to wash it in the morning as well, especially during winter.
I then spray One Love Organics Pretty Pores Complexion Toning Mist onto my skin which gives it a nice glow to start the day off.
Once my skin has a balanced pH, I use One Love Organics Morning Glory Brightening Complexion Booster as my facial serum of choice. Like the name of this product says, it brightens the skin which is oh so important in the mornings for me.
I also use Pretty Organics Carrot and Neroli Wrinkle Relief Eye Serum for my delicate eye area. This eye serum is very light and soaks in quite quickly so that my eye area isn’t oily when I want to put my makeup on.
After my face soaks up the serums, I use Cocoon Apothecary’s Orange Blossom Cream. This cream is honestly so perfect for my combination skin. Since I put so many moisturizing components onto my skin in the morning, it could feel too much if I didn’t have this cream in the middle. It isn’t a thick cream like I use in the night but instead it’s light and soaks in super quick leaving it with a fresh feeling.
The last step before putting my makeup on is using some sunscreen. I cannot express to you how important sunscreen is to a beauty routine not only in the summer but in the winter as well. UV rays may be less in the winter but they are still present and because of that you need to protect your skin. I use Graydon’s SPF 30 Sun Cream which doesn’t leave any white residue and guess what… adds more moisture which is perfect for the foundation I use!
