I’ve mentioned Bôhten Eyewear before in The List: January. I can’t tell you how much I am in love with their glasses. New favourite line! They happen to be coming out with a new Spring/Summer 2015 line soon and I was lucky enough to be sent a pair to review! The new line is their first ever MADE IN CANADA.
First of all, we need to talk about the packaging for the product because I think it’s spectacular. The glasses come in a wooden box with a slide open top for entry. There’s definitely an unmistakable cool factor the moment you see it. The only writing on the box is their name on the top, simple and beautiful. The slide top adds to the clean lines since there are no hinges or latches present.
Once you get to the glasses, the first thing you notice is how light they are. I usually get hard core sunglass marks on the bridge of my nose but since they’re fantastically light, they don’t leave those marks and I don’t have to be embarrassed when I take my sunglass off.
I think Bôhten nails the shape of sunglasses right on the head. The new 2015 style has been made a bit smaller than the 2014 Exstel. I have a pretty small head (I sometimes wear children sized hats) so I found the newer smaller style fit me a bit better although I do love me some oversized sunnies!
I also have to note the colour of the wood. It is a beautiful two toned red-brown stain on the top and a grey-ish stain on the bottom. I love two toned anything since I think they are even more versatile so this was a huge plus in my books.
